Want to volunteer at a school event or chaperone a field trip this school year? Don’t delay! Get your volunteer paperwork submitted now so nothing is stopping you from fun with your Richey Rabbits!

We will walk you through it step-by-step. If you have any questions, please reach out to the PTO at richeypto@gmail.com or the school office at (302) 992-5535.

Your volunteer paperwork will need to redone every year. Your clearance is good for one year from when you apply. So, for example, if you applied on 10/2/22, you will need to reapply after 10/2/23.

Also, for the online portion of the process, you will need to create a new username and password each year.

STEP ONE

Print and complete these forms from the school:

Richey PTO was just informed that the Agency Contact ID was changed for the Delaware Child Protection Registry form. The new number is 46358. If you printed out the paperwork prior to September 13, 2023, you will either need to change this number on your form or print new forms.

Disregard the sections on Criminal Background and Special Instructions for Athletic Directors.

STEP TWO

Go to the website for Delaware Child Protection Registry (CPR).

Scroll down and click on “New Individual Registration.” Even if you already had an account, you must create a new one every year.

Complete all of the requested information. Click “Register.” You will receive an email with the next steps.

Click on the large link in the email. Create a password for your account.

Click on “Click Here to Create New CPR Request.” For Red Clay School District, the agency ID number is 352 and the agency contact number is 46358. Complete all the required fields and click “Confirm.”

Next, you will need to upload the “Delaware Child Protection Registry Consent Form” that you printed and completed from STEP ONE. You will need to have the completed form scanned onto your computer or phone in order to upload it.

Go to the “Notes and Attachment” section of the web portal. Click on “Upload Files.” Select your scanned document and click “Done.” Then, click “Review and Save.” Click “Save.”

Next, you will need to submit a $14 payment. To do this, click on the “Contingent Payment Requests” tab in the portal. Select the record name and click “Proceed to Payment.” Fill in all required fields and click “Continue.” If everything looks correct, click “Confirm.”

STEP THREE

Once your CPR request has been approved, you will need to print and/or save a copy of the confirmation letter. To do this, click on the “Completed Requests” tab. Where it says CPR Letter, click on “Click Here to Download.” Either print or save a copy of the letter.

You can either send a printed copy of the letter to the school office at Richey or you can email a copy or screenshot to Donna.Prado@redclay.k12.de.us.

STEP FOUR

Send in the 3 completed and signed volunteer forms and the CPR Letter to the school office at Richey. You can also send them to school in your child’s communication folder.

Congratulations! You have completed the process.

Movie Night

April 23, 2024 (3-5)

The PTO could use your help with our upcoming Movie Nights. The students will be split between two nights: April 9, 2024 will be for Kindergarten through 2nd grade and April 23, 2024 will be for 3rd grade through 5th grade.

We need help setting up, decorating, serving food, chaperoning, and cleaning up. Any help is appreciated. Since these events are not during school hours, you do not need to complete the volunteer paperwork to volunteer.

The Movie Nights are from 6:00-7:30 pm. We will start setting up and decorating at 5:00 pm.
